How many people can Bayou Landing accommodate?
Bayou Landing can accommodate seated meals up to 200 guests (depending upon your layout and spacing needs), hors d’oeuvres reception up to 250-300 guests, and standing room up to 400 guests.
What is included in the rental? How long will I have use of the event space(s) I reserve?
Included with the rental of Bayou Landing is the use of 250 chairs, 30 60” round tables, 10 6’ rectangular tables, 2 8’ rectangular tables, 6 bistro tables, as well as outdoor seating to accommodate up to 30 additional guests.
You are allowed to use Bayou Landing from 8 a.m., the morning of your event until 12a.m, the evening of your event.
Set-up and break-down of your tables and chairs for your event (as well as clean-up if catered by Bayou Landing) is included with your rental. A Bayou Landing on-site Event Captain will also be available during your event.
How much is the deposit, when is it due, and is it refundable? What's the payment plan for the entire bill?
Your venue rental will be secured upon our receipt of the venue deposit, which is half of your venue rental, and the signed venue rental contract. The remainder of your venue rental fee and security deposit of $500 is due 30 days before your event. If you follow the cancellation policy, half of your rental deposit is subject for a refund. The security deposit of $500 is refundable after your event upon inspection of the venue and determination of no damages to the building and/or furniture or fixtures.
Can I hold my ceremony here, too? Is Is there a bride's changing area? How much time is allocated for the rehearsal?
Yes, we can hold your ceremony of up to 150 seated guests (100 on lower level, additional on upper level), or 200+ with standing room. A private bride’s room is available. Your venue rental is for the day of rental only. Please schedule your rehearsal during that time, or secure the day before with a two-day rental should you require a rehearsal the day before your event.
What's the cancellation policy?
Required cancellation notice must be received by Bayou Landing management no later than 90 days prior to your scheduled event. If cancellation occurs 90 days or more of the scheduled event, you forfeit half of your venue deposit. Should cancellation be less than 90 days prior to event, you forfeit your full deposit required to book the date. If you resolve to amend the date of the event, Bayou Landing management will apply a penalty to your event charge not to exceed 10% of venue rental.
Can I move things around and decorate to suit my purposes, or do I have to leave everything as is? Are there decoration guidelines/restrictions? Can I use real candles?
Furniture and Fixtures at Bayou Landing are to remain in place as they are found. Nothing may be secured to the walls by use of tape, tacks, nails,command strips, etc. You may not use glitter or any products containing glitter. Real candles should covered on the sides and sit on top of a base. Failure to comply with these items will result in forfeiting all or a portion of your security deposit of $500. What time can my vendors start setting up on the day of the wedding? Is it possible to start the setup the day before? How early can deliveries be made? How much time will I have for décor setup?
Your venue rental is from 8a.m. to 12a.m. midnight the day of your event. Please schedule your vendors and deliveries accordingly. Unless the previous day is secured by you, your rental is for the day of event only and no prior deliveries will be allowed.
Is there an outdoor space where my guests can mingle, and can it be heated and/or protected from the elements if necessary?
Bayou Landing does have a covered, open-air deck overlooking Bayou DeSiard. Café lighting, accent lightning in the cypress trees and under-water lighting create an enchanting ambiance. You may rent stand-alone heating units if necessary.
Are there any restrictions on a send-off?
We recommend bubbles, fresh flowers, lavender, grains, birdseed, sparklers. We ask that you do not use any form of fireworks (except sparklers as listed in venue rental contract). Additionally, we ask that you do not use anything containing glitter, confetti, confetti poppers, artificial flowers, rice, or silly string. Please see the venue rental contract for details. Any items used for a send-off should be cleaned and collected by you upon completion or you risk the loss of all or part of your $500 security deposit.
Do you have an in-house caterer or a list of “preferred” caterers, or do I need to provide my own? Even if there is an in-house caterer, do I have the option of using an outside caterer instead?
Bayou Landing has a full on-site catering operation. You may use your own caterer, however, your caterer must be approved by Bayou Landing Management and is subject to $500 surcharge. Should you choose an approved outside caterer, you forfeit the venue rental discount. See Catering FAQs for additional information.
If I hire my own caterer, are kitchen facilities available for them?
If your caterer is approved by Bayou Landing Management, they are allowed to use our kitchen facilities as a warming kitchen only. Your caterer may use the prep tables, fridge space, warmers, and dish sink. No cooking or cleaning equipment (including range/oven and dishwasher) is available for use. All food must be prepared off-site and brought into Bayou Landing for your event.
A surcharge of $500 will be added to the venue rental should you choose to use an approved outside caterer.
What is your policy on cleanup?
If you choose to use an outside caterer, the kitchen and venue space should be clear of any evidence from your caterer, or your event. It must be returned to the same condition as it was found before event. You forfeit your $500 security deposit If this is not complied with.
Are there restrictions on what kind of music I can play, or a time by which the music must end? Can the venue accommodate a DJ or live band?
Bands and DJs are welcome. We do not have any restrictions on your band or DJ, or the music played. The only restriction is all live music must conclude by 11 p.m.
Is there parking on site?
Yes, onsite parking is available and can accommodate a generous number of vehicles.
What security services do you offer? Do I need to hire my own security guards, or does the site hire them or have them on staff?
Bayou Landing will assume the responsibility to hire off-duty police officers or sheriff deputies for you. We do require that 2 officers are onsite for up to 200 guests, as well as one additional officer is required for each additional 100 guests. The charge to secure the officers is $30 per hour, per officer, for a minimum of 3 hours. They are required to arrive 30 minutes before your event and will stay until your last guest vacates the premises. You, the renter, will be responsible to pay the officers upon completion of your event as this charge is not included in your invoice from Bayou Landing.
Do I need liability insurance?
We do ask that you obtain a liability insurance policy for the day of your event.
Please provide proof of liability insurance coverage (no less than 1 million each occurrence - 1 Million aggregate) for the day(s) of said event listing Wooden Investments, LLC., d/b/a BAYOU LANDING as additional insurer and submit to Bayou Landing no less than 30 days prior the your event. Events that will have an alcohol option, are required to include host liquor liability to special event liability insurance policy.)
Can I bring my own wine, beer or champagne, and is there a corkage fee if I do? Can I bring in other alcohol?
ALL Bar service must be provided by Bayou Landing, as required by the STATE of Louisiana. Bar packages available (See BAR Caterings). No outside alcoholic beverages are allowed, or will be confiscated. Must have two off-duty officers present (see price schedule).
